    What it does

Posted by Unknown on 29th Jan 2017

This product connects each pin of each RJ45 port to all other same pins on same connector. It is not clealy explained. No special wiring or punch downs are necessary.

Panel conveniently labels one RJ45 connector as the input. Making clear which of up to 12 incoming cables is the incoming signal line.

Each RJ45 cable connects up to four pairs (ie can be phone lines). Each RJ45 jack can be attached to its cable so that each cable only has selected phone lines - or all four. Or each jack can be constructed so that a selected pair (phone line) is unique to each phone. Therefore each phone can be selected to any one or more phone lines.

Since all connections are hardwired, then anyone who might temporarily disconnect a line cannot accidentally change the installation.

Even better, problems with interior phone lines are quickly located even by the technically naive. Each line is easily (and temporarily) disconnected from an RJ45 port to determine which line has caused problems. Then phone service is restored while waiting for service to arrive and fix that one defective line or phone.

This panel cleaned up a hodge-podge of wires making obvious where each cable is connected.
